Hyde Park Theatre presents
THE MAKING OF A GREAT MOMENT
BY peter Sinn Nachtrieb
September 24–October 24, 2026
Hyde Park Theatre season show: We are happy, or more accurately deliriously excited, to announce our production of The Making of a Great Moment, by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb.
In this hilarious play, two members of the "Victoria Canada Bicycle Theatre Company" aspire to change people’s lives with the power of theater.
The show is directed by Mark Pickell and features two comic legends of Austin theater, Lee Eddy and Jeff Mills.
We could not be luckier in our cast. Lee Eddy is an actor, director and writer whom you may know from Netflix’s brilliant series Mo or the marvelous Richard Linklater film Apollo 10 1/2. Or you may remember her from her Best of FronteraFest show “You’re Invited to Tuscan’s 5th Birthday Party!,” the raucous story of a stressed-out mother and a children’s party gone as wrong as possible, which she subsequently turned into an award-winning short film.
You may have seen Jeff Mills last year at HPT in L. B. Deyo’s Apprehension, but he has also worked with the Rude Mechs, SVT, Physical Plant, Fusebox, Zach Theater, Refraction Arts, the Siti Company and many more. He’s a producer, director, actor and sound designer whose notable credits include The Assumption, Fixing King John, Roe, Everything is Established, Three, Spacestation1985, Fixing Troilus and Cressida, and Hotel Vanya. In 2018, Jeff received the distinguished John Bustin Award for Conspicuous Versatility from the Austin Critics Table.
